A Strategic Partnership for Global Connectivity
Durban Direct is KwaZulu-Natal’s premier air route development initiative, created to improve and secure direct air connectivity into the province. Its primary objective is to attract, support, and sustain direct regional and international flights to and from Durban, unlocking tourism, promoting trade, and driving economic growth.

The initiative is a powerful public-private partnership driven by key economic players, including the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), Dube TradePort Corporation (DTPC), KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority (KZNTAFA), TIKZN, eThekwini Municipality and Airports Company South Africa (ACSA). This collaborative committee works closely with airline partners, offering market insights and coordinated support to ensure route viability and success
