Luxury Beachwood Coastal Estate launch drives R634m in sales

KwaZulu-Natal’s property sector has received a significant boost, with the launch of Beachwood Coastal Estate recording R634 million in sales within just two days, underscoring strong investor confidence in the province’s high-value property market.
Located along the coastline of Durban North, the development has attracted interest from both local and international buyers, including investors from Dubai and Tokyo. According to Dr Andrew Golding, CEO of the Pam Golding Property Group, the development “sets a new benchmark for land values in the province, achieving over R10 000 per square metre.” Pam Golding Property Group is the exclusive marketer of the freehold stands and sectional title residences.
The R3.5 billion development forms part of the investment pipeline from the 2024 KwaZulu-Natal Investment Conference, with its launch taking place shortly after the 2025 conference.
Situated on a prime 430 333 sqm site, Beachwood Coastal Estate is designed as a green, low-impact development, with more than 50% of the site dedicated to open space, including rehabilitated dune forests, wetlands, and landscaped areas. Environmental initiatives include stormwater filtration, indigenous vegetation restoration, and the preservation of habitats for 17 bird species.
Phase 1 will comprise 52 freestanding plots and 37 residential units, including apartments and duplex villas, with future phases maintaining exclusivity and environmental integrity.
Carol Reynolds, Pam Golding Properties area principal for North Durban, highlighted the lifestyle offering: “The development will feature a nine-hole signature golf course, wellness centre, spa, gym, clubhouse, indoor pools, sports facilities, co-working spaces, and direct beach access, supported by comprehensive security systems.”
The strong sales performance reinforces KwaZulu-Natal’s growing appeal as a destination for premium property investment and lifestyle developments.
