TIKZN Partnering with municipalities to support local business: Amajuba Municipal Road Show 2015-03-18 08:12:00
In the sixth succession of the municipal road shows that seeks to unlock the
investment opportunities across the province of KwaZulu-Natal, Trade &
Investment KwaZulu-Natal set out to Amajuba District Municipality to host
another thriving Municipal Road Show on Thursday, 12 March 2015 at Blackrock
Casino in Newcastle. The objective of this Road Show was to improve the quality
of awareness of the TIKZN’s services, to strengthen relationships and flow of
communication between TIKZN, business and the municipalities. TIKZN works
closely with municipalities to package and promote investment opportunities and
encourage local companies to export.
Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) continues to stamp authority in the
trade and investment sector and partnering with all spheres of government to
support local trade and support local businesses to create and sustain
employment for the people of KZN.
In 2014, TIKZN and the South African Local Government Association, (SALGA)
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which forms part of the programme
that supports the promotion of municipalities as investment friendly
destinations and address any bottlenecks and red-tape that emerge.
TIKZN endeavors to provide and facilitate regular engagement for district
Municipalities and other top-level business leaders in the districts to create a
forum for corporate members to network across business and government;
The Mayor of Amajuba District Municipality, Cllr J Khumalo was amongst the key
speakers and she expressed gratitude to TIKZN for this initiative and the
continuous support and further cited that this platform will bear fruits for
growth for the economy of this province and substantial impact on the economic
environment.
