Successful business to business meetings held between South African and Portuguese manufacturers

Several of Portugal's top businesses converged in KwaZulu-Natal recently for a business to business matchmaking session. Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) hosted the Leadership Business Consulting delegation at their offices today. Local businesses were invited to meet with companies from Portugal for the purposes of developing business partnerships and relations. The following areas were investigated: aluminium system solutions for architecture, construction, production of plastic pipes and fittings, home textiles, home appliances and the production of power and telecommunication cables. The session proved to be a resounding success. Apart from sharing interesting business opportunities from the two countries, the business to business event provided local and international delegates with an opportunity to network. Business meetings were facilitated and government opportunities presented for members to evaluate and investigate. The delegation consisted of players from the following industries; pharmaceutical, power, water treatment chemicals and management; plastic, information technology and manufacturing industries. Ms Kanyi Ntloko-Gasa, Executive Manager: Investment Promotion, TIKZN added, "TIKZN has matched the delegation to like minded local businesses." She went on to say, "KZN is evolving into a competitive destination for investment within South Africa." KwaZulu-Natal's current leading tradable products with Portugal include vehicles; iron and steel ; inorganic chemicals, precious metal compound, isotopes ; aluminium and articles thereof ; cotton ; tanning, dyeing extracts, tannins, pigments etc ; edible fruit, nuts, peel of citrus fruit, melons ; articles of iron or steel ; toys, games, sports requisites ; tools, implements, cutlery, etc of base metal. ends
