  • Tourism KwaZulu-Natal wins bid to host Africa´s Travel INDABA until 2022

    South African Tourism board has selected Tourism KwaZulu-Natal as the successful bidder to host the newly rebranded Africa´s Travel INDABA for the next five years following a comprehensive bidding process which started with an expression of interest to all provinces.

    This was announced by President Jacob Zuma during the official opening of South African Tourism´s annual travel show, INDABA, which is taking place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban from 16 to 18 May 2017.

  • KwaZulu-Natal prepares to host Africa WEF in May

    The City of Durban will from May 3 to 5 host the African leg of the World Economic Forum (WEF) with the KwaZulu-Natal province standing to benefit to the value of R155 million and 512 jobs expected to be sustained or created from the event.

    The gathering will convene regional and global leaders from business, the government and civil society to explore solutions to create economic opportunities for all on the continent.

  • KWAZULU-NATAL SIGNS AN MOU WITH THE GUANGDONG PROVINCE (CHINA)

    This visit by more than 150 Chinese investors and businesses was a follow-up on a similar visit in November 2015 as part of a trade and investment partnership between the Province of KwaZulu-Natal and the Province of Guangdong in China. Guangdong is the largest and most populous province in China and is responsible for the bulk of its manufacturing and exports.
    The one-day business seminar included focused workshops on industrial development, trade and cross-border commerce, and tourism. This offered KwaZulu-Natal companies the opportunity to explore the Chinese market and gain inroads into the Asian region. This event further provided a fantastic opportunity for KZN businesses that wished to benefit from doing business with the world´s second largest economy.

  • TIKZN A CATALYST FOR SOUTHERN AFRICAN TRADE

    Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) Export Week is scheduled to take place 17 - 21 October 2016 at the Durban International Convention Centre. Now in its fifth year, the annual programme has been developed to recognise, promote and assist with growing export opportunities in the province, giving export ready businesses a platform to enhance their international business development strategies.

    KwaZulu-Natal is South Africa’s second largest economy, contributing on average 16.0% to the country’s GDP. The province is strategically positioned as it is home to two of Africa’s busiest and largest ports, Durban and Richards Bay.

  • A Collaborative effort - “In Conversation with KwaZulu-Natal”

    ON Friday 29 January 2016,Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal in collaboration with its strategic development partners; Dube Trade Port, Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, KwaZulu-Natal Growth Fund and Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) set out to Gauteng to host an information sharing business breakfast aimed at collectively promoting the province of KwaZulu-Natal as an investment destination.

    The In Conversation was conceptualised in 2014, where TIKZN CEO hosted an “In Conversation with the CEO” breakfast session in Cape Town, to promote the agency and to tell a KZN story to the small business delegates from the Western Cape that he hosted.

  • Connecting Africa through radio

    Together with our partners Tourism KwaZulu-Natal and East Coast Radio, we are proud to present Connecting Africa.

    Now in its fourth year running, the project unites four radio stations in Durban, with the aim of helping to scope the economic future of the Zulu Kingdom by promoting the province to potential investors and tourists in the continent.

    Representatives from Phoenix FM from Lusaka, Zambia and Star FM from Harare, Zimbabwe have flown in to Durban to join East Coast Radio and its sister station, Jacaranda FM, to experience what KZN has to offer.

    A Netherlands Trade Mission Headed by Ms. Lidewijde Ongering, Netherlands' Director General for Transport has arrived in SA on Sunday 6 July 2014. After meeting with Johannesburg and Cape Town based companies, the delegation ended their tour with a visit to Durban.   • Polish inward bound delegation investigating business opportunities in KZN Province

    The Province of KwaZulu-Natal is currently hosting a business delegation from the Wielkopolska Region in Poland until Wednesday, 11 June 2014. The delegation comprising eight companies and three political officials is led by Mr. Mateusz Klemenski, Deputy Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region, Chairman of the delegation and Mr. Jakub Jackowski, Head of Internationalization Division/ Department of Economy, Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region. The focus of the mission is to increase partnerships and business linkages in KZN with companies in the areas of appliance manufacture, food products, electronics, door & window manufacture and bus manufacture.
